UPDATE: September 30, 2009 - Have taken Bella out on several trails - she is kinda like my mare Ruby with the small rears when she stops and the other horses keep going. Don't think she does it to be mean, just wants to continue as well. She stands good when tacking her up as a ground tie, but doesnot stand well when she is tied to trailer or hitching post. She needs more work on that note. I think she just needs more miles with an experianced rider. She is very smooth and puts my TWH to shame. She is considered a Rocky Mountain Horse, NOT a TWH. she is colored and gaited to proof it. She is ready for adoption with contract. Adoption fee is $600 to right home. September 9, 2009: Okay, rode Bella out on a moonlight ride. She was great! She still needs to be ridden a little more often as she does not like to stand still when there are so many other horses around her. She will do these little rears, but nothing that would unseat a person. I intend on riding her this weekend with less horses to see what she does in the daylight. She tacked up with no problem - however I did not tie her while I tacked her up. I allowed her to graze in the grass while her saddle was being set. She refused the bit for a second, but then decided to take it pretty well. She stood perfect while I mounted and we just stood there with the other horses that came along. When more horses started to arrive, then she started her dancing and slight rearing. Nothing that would remove you, but it was a little nerve racking. She needs more miles, but she is on her way to becoming a great horse. She is VERY VERY smooth, in fact,she is smoother than my TWH that I have ridden on all my rides. If I can get her through this rearing issue, she may become my favorite horse to ride. My horse might be upset about that! Look for more updates. Coggins is current and she is ready for her new home. UPDATE: August 15, 2009 - Spoke to a trainer and we will have Bella working towards correcting her issues. My trainer said that it sounded like her girth was over tightened in the past and she has learned behavior. So, with a regiment that he prescribed, we should have her better in a couple of weeks. Will update after a few sessions, so check back here. Rocky Mountain Horse Cross - Bella is a cream colored mare with a mixed colored mane and tail. (Black, Brown & Blonde). So, I am unsure if she would be considered a Palomino or a Buckskin. Either way, she is real sweet. Bella is a sweet girl that still needs additional handling. She tries to get away from you when she see grass, but is easily controllable. She is ridable and gaited. Very smooth at that! She is quit lazy, and needs someone that will ride her often to work out the kinks. When you saddle her up, she will rear away from the girth being cinched up. Once you get her saddled up, she stands pretty good. She does not tie very well, but is learning. I have ridden her around the neighborhood several times and just found her to be lazy. Once you get her going, she is a pleasant ride. She stands 14.2 hands and is approximately 9 years old. She stands for the farrier, current on shots and is ready for a new home. She was used for a broodmare prior to coming to my farm. Bella still needs her coggins pulled, but if you are interested in her, I can have it pulled and she would be ready for pick up or delivery within a weeks time. (My vet is wonderful!). I do require an adoption contract, but it is simply - I just want to be sure that she is safe at all times and I must know who she is being transferred to - no matter what. I do keep tabs on my horses, so be sure before you commit. She needs a forever home or just a great trainer that can get her on the right path. Adoption fee
